LACE AND DENIM

Lace peplum top, Dotti Australia / Jeans, Primark London / Wedges, Charles & Keith / Necklace, Massimo Dutti / Bag, Nose / Jewel bangle, Bangkok

Went for a leisurely lunch with Mum at Acme Bar and Coffee and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves dining on the pasta and appetizer. Right after lunch, got Mum to snap a few photos of my casual weekend attire.

I combined a simple black peplum lace top and burgundy jeans that is as comfy as comfy gets. I've always thought coloured jeans gives an added ten pounds to the frame until I found this pair for an amazing GBP11.00.

STAIR TREK

Dress, Topshop / Jacket, MNG / 6-inch heels, Vincci / Mum's Vintage Evening Bag / Necklace, H&M / Ring, Chatunchak Market, Bangkok / Bracelets, Flea Market, Chiangmai / Nails, O.P.I Did You Ear About Van Gogh

Fell head over heels in love with the glamourous staircase in the new Grand Hyatt hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I thought it was perfect to snap some quick photos here. The restaurant at level 38 was tres chic too.

This is my version of office wear, albeit a bit short, dressed up with some baubles for dinner with the hubby.

DIAL 'I' FOR IPHONE

#1 Visualize Us / #2 Etsy / #3 iPhoneXcases / #4 Etsy

I've been pretty lazy to photograph the outfits that I wear, so I thought I'd do a post on iPhone cases instead. These colourful cases are ear candies, without the sugar and ants. Some may be available online if any of you are interested

If you're not going to show off your iPhone, then why get one? Like clothes, a stylish iPhone cover tells a lot about an individual's personality.

JEWELLERY DISPLAY

I love jewellery as much as I love clothes. I've always wondered what's the best way to store these lovely knick-knacks - although I don't have a lot of them.

I came across some really quaint and quirky ways to store jewellery while browsing the internet one day. The next time I buy a closet, I'll be sure to reserve the top drawer as a treasure chest. The most unassuming things like small plates and cakestands can create beautiful jewellery holders. Believe it or not, your jewellery can also act as wall art or side table decor.

THE MINAUDIERE

The French call it a minaudiere. We call it a box clutch. No doubt we'll never use glamourous words such as "minaudiere" here and never be as sophisticated as the French women. Maybe it's their porcelain complexion, or just maybe, it's their thick black eyeliner...

I've fallen head over heels in love with my H&M Anna Dello Russo minaudiere - ahem!, and find every opportunity to use it. This small box clutch cost RM199, and is worth every penny and the long queue getting in even though it can't hold much. The shade of turquoise is fresh, accented with gold charms and trinkets. The cute chihuahua clasp is a plus point.

I love my nails in the 1st picture. It's a DIY with OPI's The Colour of Minnie. In the 2nd pic, I'm wearing OPI's Call Me Gwen-ever (orange) and OPI's Nicki Minaj's Metallic 4 Life (black glitter), also from OPI, coz I was testing out Halloween-themed nails.

THE DARKEST HOUR

Top, MNG / Long skirt, ZARA / Necklace, bebe / Brooch, AVON / Shoes and Bag from
some Flea Market

Black = Gothic. No one I know can pull off the Goth look more than my dear friend Rachel. I certainly can’t. Our love for fashion brought us together and looking back, one never really knows where or how they can bump into that kinda soulmate. You know, the kind who talks, sleeps and breathes fashion...

I was elated when she agreed to partner with me on this blog – and she's such a stylish individual too. We could be sisters in our past lives. We both love highstreet brands and cheap flea market finds. We both laugh and talk a lot when we see each other. We’ve dreamt of starting a blogshop together (which didn’t materialise). Most importantly, we both love to waste our hard-earned salary on outfits, accessories and footwear.

Rachel will be a regular contributor on STYLE: UNRAVELLED, so keep a look out for more style ideas and inspirations from the both of us.

INTER-LACE-ING ROMANCE

Dress from Miss Selfridge / Alexander McQueen copy box clutch from Nose (copies are great too!) / Shoes from Caparros / Makeup and hair by Ty

I love the romanticism of lace. The fabric is delicate and subtle, yet sexy in its own sublime way. This dress looks like a top and a skirt, but really, it's  one-piece pull-up peplum dress with a gold zipper at the back to give it that bit of rock-n-roll feel.

And no matter how much I tell myself that I want to invest more on separates, I'll always come back to the sophisticated charm that a dress provides. No mixing-and-matching required. I paired this ensemble with gold sparkly peep-toe rosette heels, which also happen to be my wedding dance shoes, which also happen to hurt a teeny-weeny bit.
